Easter floristry
Easter is a bright spring holiday that accompanies the onset of warmth and
long days. It is no coincidence that its calendar date depends on the phase of
the moon.
Each region has its own customs and traditions. But there are generally accepted rules: the house should be festively decorated, and the table should be laden with food. And if the Easter meal is an event for one evening, then you can decorate the house in advance. Also, over the years, the tradition of exchanging Easter gifts with friends and family has taken root, not only edible but also decorative, or you can combine them into one :)
Easter floristry is a separate
direction in flower art. It is diverse, unique and interesting, associated with
certain traditions and easily recognizable by its attributes. Every year it
becomes more and more popular and is increasingly used in interior design of
hotels, restaurants, cafes, shops, and private homes.
For decoration you can use the
following decorative elements:
1. Easter eggs and various figures. Krashenki are one of the main
attributes of the holiday. They are present not only on the holiday table, but
they can also be placed throughout the room or placed in a wicker basket to
create a special atmosphere. You can also decorate your home or office with
holiday-themed figurines. These could be Easter bunnies, angels and the like.
Use wooden pendants in the shape of Easter eggs, butterflies, cockerels or with
the name of the holiday, which will help add coziness and a festive mood.
2. Easter wreaths. This wreath is decorated with Easter eggs, figurines of rabbits, chickens
and the first spring flowers. They are placed on tables and walls, or on doors.
Wreaths are made from completely artificial decor or in combination with fresh
flowers.
3. Wreath or bouquet of branches. A wreath of willow branches will symbolize rebirth.
The bouquet can be placed in a vase, and the branches can be decorated with
hanging Easter eggs or figurines.
4. Spring flowers. It is recommended to place on the table, adding decorative Easter eggs.
This will add more comfort and freshness to the room, and will be an integral
reminder of the arrival of spring.
If we are talking about flower
arrangements, then in Easter floristry they are completely different in shape,
color scheme and assortment of flowers. The most popular in Easter compositions
are spring flowers, such as tulips, hyacinths, daffodils, irises, ranunculi.
But traditional ones are also used - roses, eustomas, carnations,
chrysanthemums, freesias. In terms of color, it is advisable to keep the
composition in the traditions of Easter, taking into account the symbolism of
color:
- white – purity and
spirituality
- yellow, gold – light, warmth,
sun
- blue, blue – the color of the
sky, faith
- green – hope
- red – rebirth, life.
Easter
floristry also has its own constant paraphernalia: eggs, feathers, chickens and
bunnies. All these elements will decorate, add “zest” to flower arrangements,
and also make them specifically Easter.
